Democratic Party of Kosovo headship member Blerand Stavileci has said today that the Energy Bill strategy adopted by the Kurti Government does not address our country's energy future in line with new circumstances in Kosovo, the region and the world.
Stavileci has written on his Facebook page that the shortcomings spread in this government bill once again testify to the lack of long-term vision of energy and national security, as well as the failure to plan measures to overcome short-term difficulties starting this difficult winter waiting for us all.
“The two fundamental principles of any strategy that should be security and supply and coping with energy prices for all by placing the consumer in the centre are deliberately or unintentionally ignored to the point that its pocket has been put in place, as well as empty by the consequences of the recent economic crises. The supply security continues to remain critical and in the mercy of import, while price sustainability continues to remain on the back of domestic economies and businesses”, Stavileci said.
Moreover, as it writes, security of supply and affordable prices should never be seen as the opportune cost for sustainable development.
“Both should be viewed as two sides of the same medal, shared and complementary. There is no energy security and national security without sustainable supply security. There is no sustainable development without the sustainability of sufficient production. There are no affordable prices in open terms of unaffordable dependence on import”, he said.
According to Stavileci, the government should reflect and not fail in the strategic planning of the energy future, because, according to him, it plans its safe failure and national security.
This winter and coming winters pose a serious threat to all. Therefore, at least on this important subject, it should never be lacking the seriousness of this government, absent, unfortunately, in almost all areas and crises that have been manifested so far”, Stavileci said.
