Putin warns of catastrophic threats if sanctions continue

Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that continued use of sanctions against Russia could lead to catastrophic price increases in energy markets, hitting households across Europe at much higher energy prices. “Yes, we are aware that Europeans are trying to replace Russian energy sources”, [...]
“Yes, we are aware that Europeans are trying to replace Russian energy sources”, Putin said at a meeting with senior officials, Reuters reports.
“However, we expect that the result of these actions will be an increase in the price of gas in markets and an increase in the cost of energy resources for consumers”.
All of these once again show that restrictive sanctions against Russia cause more damage to those countries that are imposing them. Further use of sanctions could lead - without extension - towards catastrophic consequences in global energy markets. /Periscopi/
