The Kosovo Assembly with 89 votes, pro, has ratified the partnership agreement for the financial framework with the European Commission for agreements on implementation of the union's financial assistance to Kosovo under the pre-membership instrument (IPA III). Supporting this agreement were extended to all parliamentary groups.
While Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi said its goal is to establish legal grounds for Kosovo to benefit from European Union funds.
The aim of this agreement is to create the necessary legal basis for Kosovo to benefit from European Union funds provided under the first membership instrument, or funds I PA III, for IPA's annual programs 2021-27. The deal as such constituted a framework agreement, while for individual annual programmes we will tie financial agreements separately for each programme. Where we will then specify projects, sectors, funds and implementation modalities for each of them. It paves the way for linking other agreements to benefit from EU funds”, he said.
