Europe's Nostra delegation was hosted yesterday by Igumen Sava Janjic, who had dinner at religious sites.
Igumeni Janzic has published several photos of the European organisation's visit to the monastery.
“honoured to welcome the European delegation Nostra today at the Decani Monastery. Protecting common heritage in Europe is essential to the future of our continent. Visiting different customs sites Europe Nostra will stress the need to protect heritage in Kosovo. Europe's Nostra delegation, which is spending these days on a study visit to Kosovo, consists of prominent experts who are deeply committed to protecting and preserving cultural heritage in Europe and working on many projects in this field. Honored to host”, Janjic's tweeting says.
The introduction of the Decani Monastery at the 7 most endangered monuments in Europe has rejected Kosovo institutions.
Prime Minister Kurti and President Osmani have sent letters to the organisation “Europepa Nostra”, which deals with the protection of cultural heritage.
In this letter, the government chief and state chief have argued why the Decani Monastery does not meet the criteria for entering the “programme. The seven most endangered monuments”.
So the introduction of the Decani Monastery on the list of the “7 most endangered countries in Europe” has also reacted to Culture Minister Hajrullah Ceku.
KFOR's mission in Kosovo last April of last year in a response to the Express has stated they have not recorded any significant incidents against the Decani Monastery in the past 10 years.
We have not recorded any significant security incidents in the last ten years against the Decani Monastery. KFOR will continue operating in order to ensure peaceful co-existence in that area. All religious and cultural heritage objects throughout Kosovo must be respected and preserved. We continue to co-operate closely with the Kosovo Police and with the EU mission for rule of law, E ULEX, in line with the principle of the first, second and third responseer”, said KFOR's response to the Journal Express.
