Lavrov: We now target other regions besides Donbas

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said that the geographical objectives of Russia's <x0 military suboperation” in Ukraine are no longer limited to the eastern Donjeck and Luhansk regions, known jointly as Donbas. “Now geography is different. “Now geography is different. And it's not just Donbas, it's also the Herson region, Zaporigja and a number of other territories. The process continues with insistence”, Lavrov said on July 20th about Russian news agencies, RIA Novosti and RT.
Lavrov has added that “if the West sends long-range weapons to Kiev, the geographical goals of special operation in Ukraine will be expanded further”.
The White House has said on July 19th that Russia is preparing to annex more Ukrainian territory and are installing illegal “leaders” in areas it controls.
John Kirby, spokesman for the National Security Council, has said from the White House that Russia is planning to organise a false “referration” in the areas that it most recently occupied in September.
According to him, Moscow is preparing for the Russian rouble to be used as currency and forcing residents to apply for citizenship.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the invasion of Ukraine on 24 February.
He calls the war <x0 special military operation” to demilitarise Ukraine.
The West has responded to Russia, striking the economy of this state with severe sanctions. /rel
