Asked if you see the “Open Balkans project” as an indication that the Balkan family can function, he replied that the EU is of the opinion that regional co-operation is desirable and welcome.
However, Lajcak São concealed that at first there were questions about why this initiative was needed when there are many such forms, he said he changed his mind when he saw the enthusiasm of the participating countries and said the EU is willing to support it, reports Serbian magazine “Nedeljnik”.
We only have two conditions. One is for the project to be comprehensive, not to be excluded from anyone, and the second is that everything it has agreed to be based on European standards, to help on the European path”, Lajcak said.
He added that instead of controversy, it would be good to focus on concrete results and that this project, if it turns out useful, is welcome.
