Italy's Prime Minister Mario Draghi has failed to get broad approval during a vote of confidence in the Senate.
Although 74-year-old won the vote in Rome on Wednesday evening with 95 votes for and 39 against, the three main parties -- Lega, Forza Italy and Movement Five Stars (M5S) -- did not participate in the vote.
The disappointing result prompted Draghi to submit the resignation to the president, Sergio Mattarella, for the second time in a week, after he refused to accept it last Thursday. / A T S/
