The European Federation of Journalism reacts to RTK board selection: Use Target criteria

European Federation of Journalists Secretary-General Ricardo Gutierrez has reacted after Butterflies Kusari wrote that the ruling party is trying to destroy RTK's board.

Kusari, who had praised the election of the first members of the new public television board, said he is now trying to destroy this board for lack of transparency.

On this issue, Gutierez stressed that the selection of board members of a public broadcaster requires maximum transparency and the use of objective criteria.

“Selecting board members of a public broadcaster requires maximum transparency and using objective criteria. That applies to RTK in Kosovo as well as to any other public channel. Parliament must resume this procedure if it wants to remain reliable!”, said in response.
