Prime Minister Edi Rama, stopped at the energy crisis the whole world is facing, has again stressed that it will be difficult for our country to find the necessary amount to meet all needs.
From Vlora, where he inspected the works at the new port site, the prime minister said the price has gone to “tratosphere”, but once again stressed that the challenge will be the drop of possible volume to buy.
“We are in an area where the government's most ambitious energy programme is taking place. That's what happens with the introduction of 110. MWh is just a step of this global emergency because we've come to the point that not only the price of energy has left in the stratosphere, but it's started what we've long warned, the decline of possible volume to buy. So we are no longer in terms that the price is crazy, but it will be difficult to find”, Rama said.
The prime minister also stressed the intention to turn Albania into energy exporters, where he said measures would be taken for the country to enter sovereign phase from an energy standpoint.
We will take measures for Albania to enter the next phase by becoming energy sovereign and returning to net exporters, but we have a transitional phase that has to unite all things that have been prepared for so long and create synergy. I was also in Athens where I met and with the Crown Prince, and the agreement was made to bring the intervention from Saudi Arabia to Greece and to sell Greece and this area to solar energy that plans to produce it in vast quantities. We are in positive condition. What's worth is that the moment will come that we will no longer need to import but export”, the head of government said.
The prime minister also suggested that within August, two power producers will be installed at the port.
“Kantier of Vlora's New Port, an integrated port where, in addition to cargo ships, fishing boats and travellers will be anchored, while two electric power producers” will be installed within August, Rama said. / RTSH
