Also, Abazovic has announced Interior Affairs Minister Filip Axhiq, Police Administration Director Zoran Brãoan and ANB Director Sava Kentera for information he claims to receive.
He told “Vijesti” that he has asked them to collect information, while stating that close groups with Petar Lazovijqi and his father Zoran, former senior police official, are targeting him as the main culprits for the arrest and are planning some kind of revenge.
The prime minister did not want “Vijest” to specify which of the Lazovic circle is targeted, holding it responsible for the arrest of “Junior”, but he is not taking any threat. He also stressed that there is no “any reason not to trust people” who have informed him of this.
I won't give up a millimeter, no matter what threats, extremist tones, hate speech the mission of creating the legal state. Rather, attempts at sabotage, extremist tones, hate speech, or threats are futile. I know this causes disappointment to many people, but we have shown that Montenegro is walking on the road to freedom and there is no room for drug cartels, cigarette smugglers or corrupt elites. I was informed by some sources that the close groups with Lazovic were mainly targeted because of their problems with the law. They are trying to create an atmosphere in which I, from the prime minister's position, am supposedly pressuring prosecutors to prosecute Lazovic and the criminal group of people around them,” - Prime Minister Abazovic said.
He also said he believes authorities will not relativise the threats he receives.
Chronology
In early February of last year, Europol and Eurojust have “activated communication” through an app codenamed Sky ECC. Over the next month, judicial and law enforcement authorities in Belgium, France and the Netherlands monitored the correspondence of criminals across Europe, resulting in the collection of key information for more than a hundred widely planned criminal operations.
In July of last year, the European Union Law Implementation Agency Europol handed over to the Special State Prosecutor (SDT) transcripts of messages exchanged through that app, with the explanation that police officers Petar Lazovic and Ljubo Milovik corresponded and collaborated with leaders and members of the criminal clan “Kavac”. Lazovic, employed at the ANB, kept regular contact with one of the alleged heads of the Kavaci clan, Radoj Switzerland, and practically watched his back. Lazovic has been arrested, while police have been searching for his colleague Milovic, who has been suspended and indefinite since 2018.
A Montenegrin secret service official suspected of organising the criminal group and co-operating with the Kavaci criminal clan, with the State Special Prosecutor's Proposal on July 21st, has been ordered to be banned from law enforcement.
