Their samples proved positive earlier this month and were now verified by a laboratory in Senegal.
Health officials in the West African country say 98 people are now in quarantine as suspected contact cases.
There is still no treatment for Marburg, but doctors say drinking too much water and treating specific symptoms improves the patient's chances of survival.
The virus is transmitted to people from fruit bats and spread among people through body fluid transmission.
It is a serious disease, often fatal, with symptoms such as headaches, fever, muscle pain, vomiting blood and bloodshed
