Continued price hikes in Kosovo, inflation amounts to 14%

Prices of bread, cereals, meat, trees and fuels for the month alone have increased markedly compared to the previous month of this year. This is how the Kosovo Statistics Agency has shown, based on the harmonised Consumer Awards Index.
The report released on July 12th reportedly increased fuel prices to 15.4 per cent, compared to May or 67.3% by June 2021.
At the same time, this marks the largest increase in fuel prices.
“Buka and cereals (1.1%), meat (1.4%), trees (3.0%), sugar, jam, honey, chocolate and candy (2.2%), coffee, tea and cocoa (2.3), alcoholic beverages (1.5%), solid fuels, firewood, diapers, etc. (6.0%), goods and services for normal home economy maintenance (1.8%), fuel and lubricants for personal transport equipment (15.4%), transport services (5.9%), organised holidays (4.1%), hotel services (2.3%)”.
The Statistics Agency has shown that the annual rate of moderate inflation in June 2022 by June 2021 was 14.1 percent.
The <x0) monthly inflation measured by the harmonised consumer price index was 1.4% in June 2022. The annual inflation rate measured in June 2022 with June 2021 was 14,1%”.
Also, according to AKS, prices of sugar, honey, coffee, alcohol, as well as solid fuels, firewood, etc.
“Buka and cereals (27.7%), meat (19.6%), milk, cheese and eggs (22.3%), oils and food fats (53.8%), vegetables (6.8%), sugar, jam, honey, chocolate, and sweets (19.0%), various hot sauce products, salt spices, baby food, etc. (12.8%), coffee, tea and cocoa (17.9%) mineral water, nonalcoolitic drinks, juices from trees and vegetables (6,2%), alcoholic beverages (7.0%), tobacco (4.8%), maintenance and settlement regulation (11.0%), gas (39,3%), solid fuels, firewood, diapers, etc. (33,6%)” are some of the products that have marked consumer price increases if compared to last June's period to the current one.
As prices drop, according to the AKS notes in COICOP subgroups: milk, cheese and eggs (-1.6%), vegetables (10.9%), electricity (-0.7%) (due to the decline in electricity (expensions) in June 2022 compared to May 2022) with an impact of -0.5 percent on IHCK. /Monitor
