Leaders of six Gulf Co-operation Council nations (GCC) In Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and the United Arab Emirates plus Jordan, Egypt and Iraq are holding regional security talks and bilateral relations with the US at the summit.
Biden was using the summit to present his strategy for the Middle East as he wrapped up the last part of a four-day trip aimed at strengthening ties in the region.
“We will not leave and leave a vacuum that will be filled by China, Russia or Iran”, Biden said. “We're going to ask to build this moment with active, principled, American”.
