Independent Kosovo Private Sector Union Chairman Yusuf Azemi said at a news conference that considering the current situation that is ruling in the country, it is not worth talking about minimum wage under 500 euros.
“As far as the minimum wage issue is concerned, you know the union has had a cost, we said it would be 460 euros, but from now on we think that the salary under 500 euros is not worth talking about”, he said.
Azem also says the division of Trust means for the private sector is imidiate.
And we're standing in our demand that the division of Trust tools for Kosovo private sector workers is connected, primarily because with these salaries, and with these tools that we're benefiting we can't make it, and we're in an extremely large crisis”, he said.
Speaking of the private sector's serious situation, Azemi said there are workers who receive only 130 euros per month.
He has asked the Ministry of Finance to open once again the 100-euro extension application for those who, according to him, have not been able to apply before.
Kosovo's “government in the past two months made the 100-euro division for each of the Kosovo private sector workers, and among these workers, there are several workers who don't have days to apply, or have not applied properly for this 100 euros, and we've made the request, so we're saying it's protocol, the minister of finance that these workers are allowed once again or once again or given a three-day deadline that they haven't thus been able to apply well for these 100 euros.
There is more than a month and a week and the finance minister does not come up with a decision or a publication that those who have not benefited this 100 euros will have an additional” deadline, he said.
The SPSPK chairman praised the assistance the Kosovo Tax Administration is providing in the investigation of private sector employers.
Azem has announced how unions will hold media conferences every month for the work they do.
