In his discussion, the prime minister stressed the achievements in the first year of governance, improving economic and democratic indicators, as a result of institutional stability.
He said Kosovo is a double story of success. On one side is the success story of NATO's 1999 intervention to stop the Serb genocide of the Milosevic regime, while on the other side, as the prime minister put it, is a success story of combining economic growth with qualitative democracy.
As for integration into the European Union, the prime minister voiced confidence that the best road ahead lies with the Berlin Process, following the new beginning launched by Chancellor Scholz. This Berlin Process 2.0, as Prime Minister Kurti called it, would bring the joint regional market and the EU as value and mechanism within the six Western Balkan countries.
When I say European values I think of rule of law, human rights, civic rights, confrontation with the past, democratisation, media freedom, minority rights”, he said.
For the Russian invasion and military aggression in Ukraine, the prime minister said it is an urgent task for the EU, and that he believes that besides showing empathy, sympathy and solidarity towards the people of Ukraine and their efforts at liberation, we must do all we can to help them release themselves.
