That figure accounts for nearly half the number of troops Moscow has sent to Ukraine from the start of the occupation of this state on February 24th.

Speaking of the American broadcaster CNN, Stolkin has said the number of victims is a very large “”.

She made these statements after attending a meeting of intelligence officials of the American President Joe Biden's administration.

We're reportedly over 75,000 Russians, either killed or injured, which is a large figure. Large amounts have been invested in their earthly forces, over 80 percent of these forces are blocked or exhausted”, she has said.

Military victims are considered state secrets in Russia even in peacetime so Moscow does not update its data.

According to recent estimates by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), about 15,000 Russian soldiers were killed in combat.

Slotkin, who has recently visited Ukraine, has said that the coming period of three to six weeks will be very important for the course the war will take.

“I think we've heard the president (Ukrainian, Volodymyr) Zelensky that Ukrainians want to strike hard Russia before the winter season”, she said.

If confirmed, these figures would constitute major losses for Russia, as Ukraine moves forward the counteroffensive in the southern parts occupied by Russia, with the goal of taking control of the town of Herson.

This city, which has had its population of 290,000 before the war, is currently under an administration appointed by Moscow.

Harrison was one of the first cities to fall into the hands of Russian forces after the war began.

The British Defence Ministry has said in its recent update that Ukrainian counteroffensiva in Herson is gaining the moment.

The restoration of the city's control would create a site for Ukrainians to get some more on the Black Sea coast.

British intelligence has confirmed that the Antonivskiy Bridge near Herson, which was damaged last week, has been again hit on July 27th, “and now may not be stable for passing”.

Antonivskiy is one of three bridges around the Dnieper River that has been damaged by Ukrainian forces, with the help of long-range artillery.

Russia depends on these bridges to supply areas under its control.

British intelligence has said that Herson, the most important political centre occupied by Russia, is now “cut off” from other territories occupied by the Russians.

The loss of Herson would harm Russia's efforts to disfigure the invasion as a success, British intelligence has said.

A Ukrainian defence official has said Russian troops are re-uniting to the southern state, including the Ukrainian anti-offensive area.

Ukrainian Security Council Secretary Olexiy Danilov made these comments on Ukrainian television on July 27th, saying the reposition is being made towards Herson, Melitopoli and Zaporija.

Danilov has said Ukraine is accepting many weapons from international partners.

Among the weapons that Ukrainians have accepted are the HIMARS missile systems of the United States.

HIMARS have long ranges of action and are more precise than the Soviet-era artillery Ukraine has had in its arsenal.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the invasion of Ukraine on 24 February.

He calls the war <x0 special military operation” to demilitarise Ukraine.

The West has responded to Russia, striking the economy of this state with severe sanctions. /rel
