The number of Britons addicted to pornography has increased by 6,000, which is nearly double last year's total of just over 30,000.
The new figures discovered by the U.K. Poverty Treatment Group (UKAT) show that most of those looking for such content online were men.
This group found that more calls are now being received from people who are addicted to pornography than from those who are addicted to alcohol or drugs, reports The Sun, broadcast Clancosova.tv.
Famous, including actress Jada Pinkett Smith and pop stars Will Young and Billie Ellish, have previously reported pornography addiction problems.
Nuno Albuquerque, presiding consultant for dealing with pornography in U KAT said that increasing calls for help may also be the result of pandemic, COVID-19.
” It was a difficult time for human intimacy. This is what happens when pornography is increased and results in calls for help”, he said.
