Over 500kg of drugs seized in Albania, another person arrested

Police have arrested one person and declared a search for another within the finalisation of the operation “Restart”, initiated eight months ago.

It becomes known that the citizen Ergis Zenelak, 24, for criminal work “Narcotics Trafficking” remained on the attempt; as well as referred to materials in the Prosecutor's Office and initiated free prosecution for citizens: A. Mr. 32, resident of the village of Pontare, Devall, for criminal work “Motor Trafficking”.

Of the overall investigative actions and information collected that 24-year-old in collaboration with other people, he exercised the illegal activity of narcotics trafficking in Greece, via the green border.

Police have seized 2 sports bags, with 30kg of suspected narcotic cannabis. Also during the search exercised at his friend's bar, 32-year-olds were found and seized a brand “Peda Tek” engine, without appropriate license plates and documentation, which resulted in theft in northern Macedonia.

Under operation “Restart” 23 persons have been arrested, in 565.5kg of cannabis narcotics and 550 grams of chocolate-like cannabis.

Korca Police Report:

The tenth phase of the police operation, coded “Restart”, started eight months ago.

The operation, conducted by the Department for Investigation of Illegal Trafficking and Narcotics in DVP Korca, in co-operation with AMP Korca, Border Police, Frontex services, Korc and Devall Police Commissioners, under the Prosecution' direction, for hitting criminal activity in the field of distribution and trafficking of narcotics in the direction of the Greek state.

One citizen is taken into custody and prosecuted in a free state of another.

Another 30kg of suspected narcotic cannabis are seized.

The number of detainees goes to 23 to 565.5kg of cannabis and 550 grams of chocolate - shaped cannabis, seized under the operation.

Experts in the Department for Investigation of Illegal Traffic and Narcotics at the Corca Police Local Directorate, in collaboration with Police Supervisor Agency (AMP) Korca, Border Police, Frontex services, Korca Police Commissioners and Devall, under the direction of the Judiciary District Attorney Korac, following the police operation “Restart”, launched eight months ago, successfully finalised its tenth phase, as a result of which the official ban on citizens was made:

E. Mr., 24, for criminal work “Narcotics Trafficking” left on attempt;

And they referred to the materials in the Prosecutor and began criminal proceedings in free condition for the citizen:

A. Mr. 32, resident of the village of Pontare, Devall, for criminal work “Motor Trafficking”.

From the overall investigative actions and information accumulated that citizen E. Mr., in collaboration with other people, exercised the illegal activity of drug trafficking in Greece, through the green border, police services organised the work and from the control exercised near his residence in the village of Pontar, found and seized 2 sports bags, with 30kg of suspected narcotic cannabis. Also during the exercise at his friend's bar, citizens A. Mr., a brand “-Peda Tek” engine was found and seized, without appropriate license plates and documentation, which resulted in theft in northern Macedonia.

In cooperation with the Prosecution, a full record of the event is under way.

Materials were passed to the Judiciary District Attorney for further actions.
