20 years in prison, convicted of murder at a cafe in Gjilan

The Constitutional Court in Gjilan has declared a conviction court against accused Bardjel Zeqiri, condemning him to 20 years in prison for the murder of I.C. with a knife, at the “Veva La” cafe in Gjilan. The prosecution against the accused Zeqiri was declared today.

“The court has ruled by continuing the detention measure of the accused until the full might of the trial, but not more than the sentence pronounced at a prison sentence”, the court's announcement reported.

According to the indictment, on June 24, 2021, in Gjilan, exactly at the “Veva La” cafe, the accused deliberately deprived of life victim I. C for poor motives. The charge is said to be that after a verbal dispute between the accused and now the deceased over intimate reports between the accused and the victim's wife, the accused with a direct action knife has deprived the deceased of life now, hitting the front region of the neck (in the throat), the accused has caused four cutting wounds and two exhuming wounds (or blind) of deadness), a puncture wound to the left side of the region, where the victim has suffered injuries to survive and the hospital has survived. He charged that he committed criminal work “grave murder” by Article 173, of the Kosovo Criminal Code, punishable by no less than ten years in prison or life in prison, the Gjilan Foundation Court reported.
