On the last day of school in Garmisch-Pertenkirchen, south of Germany, a train came out of the tracks. The railway accident killed at least three people. There were also 60 injured, 16 of them in serious condition, said a police spokesman at Garmisch-Pertenkirchen.
The regional train with the destination of Munich came out of the tracks around 12:45, and three cars were overturned. The reason is not yet clear.
The wounded passengers were of all age groups, but there were a large number of students on the train. Rescue teams that arrived in ambulances and six helicopters pulled people out of the windows of the upside-down cars. / DW
