Russia's former president, Dmitry Medvedev, has warned that the Kremlin could attack Western states if Ukraine uses rockets supplied by the US to carry out attacks on Russia.
The President of the United States, Joe Biden, announced this week that his administration was sending long-range missiles to Ukraine, even earlier said Ukraine would not be sent advanced weapons.
Medvedev, a close ally of Putin, warned there would be consequences if these missiles were used on Russian soil.
If God save us, these weapons are used against Russian territory, then our armed forces will have no choice but to hit decision-making stations. Of course, it must be understood that the final decision-making centres in this case, unfortunately, are not located in Kiev's territory”, Medvedev said.
The missile systems sent to Ukraine will be able to hit enemy targets about 50 miles away, says Mirror, broadcast Klankosova.tv.
The White House said it had agreed to secure the new missiles after receiving assurances from President Zelensky that they would not be used to crack down on targets within Russia.
