Syria officially recognises self-declared separatist states Luhansk, Donnetsk

Recall that the Syrian presidency had confirmed its intention to co-operate with the two self-declared republics in February, and the decision was confirmed today by the SANA state news agency, citing a foreign ministry source.
The self-declared Donetsk People's Republic and the Luhansk People's Republic were formed in April 2014.
So far, the only UN member state to recognise their legitimacy was Russia.
