Stall: Kosovo to become part of <x0nden Balkans”, by this mutual recognition is achieved with Serbia

The Albanian Alternative Chairman in Montenegro, Nick Gilosha, has distributed the US Ambassador's statement to Montenegro, Judy Reinke, who said they support the open Balkans without input and in line with EU principles. Gilosha said via a Facebook post that Kosovo should also be part [...]

Gilosha said through a Facebook post that Kosovo should also be part of the “Balkan Open”. According to Albanian politician in Montenegro, the Open Balkans “” concreteise the issue of mutual recognition between Kosovo and Serbia.

The Balkan Open Bow will make Montenegro, Albania and Northern Macedonia three NATO member states, with great support from the US. Kosovo, as the newest state, is also part of the Open Balkans. That is, along with Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, a total of six states --”, he wrote.

Writing that “Open Balkans” is “the joint project of our most important international partners”, he added: the Open “Balkan brings an end to the mutual recognition of Serbia and Kosovo and concludes the most important open issue among Western Balkan states”.

Gilosha says Montenegro should not be inferior in this process, but as a NATO member, although small country, should be among the project's leading players.

According to him, there should also be fear of Serbia's dominance.

I don't understand the inferiority of certain political structures in Montenegro. Especially seems to me the fear of the Vuciki domination. This is below level. Everyone must offer a chance to change! We are NATO members. We shouldn't be afraid of anyone. We need to open up for cooperation with everyone, and especially with our neighbours”, he wrote.

Gilosha wrote that Western Balkan states cannot enter the EU unless they open up as neighbours towards each other.

Let's look to the future, not the past. We have to take responsibility, not do everything and everything nationally. We want economic development and cooperation. Who wants to stay in his 30s, good priest. I'm sure I don't want it and I won't!”, Nick Gilosha wrote.

At the latest meeting of the “Balkan Open”, Montenegro's prime minister participated, but said he went merely to observe.

Against the “Open Balkans” is Montenegro's president, Milo Djukanovic. He also expressed that stance from Pristina during his recent visit to Kosovo.

Kosovo, meanwhile, continues to be positioned against this initiative, naming the Open Balkans “” as Serbia's project that opposes Kosovo's interests.
