American professor Daniel Serwer, also connoisseur of Western Balkan issues at a survey of the Western Balkans, has declared that Serbia is using the pretext of genocide against the Serb minority in the north to move militarily close to the Iber River. Serwer saw Serbia's move as a copy of Russia.
Serbia is trying to copy Russia's strategy, claiming genocide against Serbs in northern Kosovo as justification for military shift to the Iber River. The mobilisation of Belgrade and its military in response to a rift in the license issue several months ago should serve as a warning”, he has declared.
He has used the five non-recognising states to describe Kosovo's sovereignty as he called the division of Europe. However, he considered that the EU and the US are already on a line in terms of policymaking.
“To do good things in the Balkans has always demanded that the US and the EU be on a line. They are now. With Trump's senseless foolishness eliminated, serious American and European negotiators are back in charge. The current problem is that the serious rise required is not ready. Europe is very divided. Five EU members do not recognise Kosovo. One, Hungary, is attractive to Russian and Serbian nationalist goals. Another, Croatia, is openly interfering with Bosnia's internal affairs to benefit a political party it controls”, Serwer wrote among other things in his view.
The recognition of political circumstances in the Western Balkans has highlighted NATO's vigilance towards Serbian military movements.
On the other hand, he gave the note to “B” The US and the EU, seeking better diplomatic results in the Western Balkans.
I'm a professor. Note B in the 21st century is not a good mark”, the American professor concludes.
