PDK: Investigation of 9 million for 42 one-man contracts, Lieburn Aliu to resign

The Democratic Party of Kosovo has again held the media conference, in connection with single-source tenders by the Ministry of Infrastructure. According to PDK deputy Eliza Hoxha, the ministry led by Lieburn Aliu, has in one year linked 42 contracts for additional work for which procurement procedures have been developed.

With April 18th of this year, through a similar press conference, we have addressed the media and citizens, to raise our concerns based on abuse of power at the Ministry of Infrastructure, presenting facts and evidence about what we consider to be one of the most suspicious links corrupt within this ministry. Specifically, from March 22nd 2021 to April 7th of this year - for a year and two weeks - the Ministry of Infrastructure had totaled about 42 stem contracts, misusing less than 9m euros in taxpayers' money through the bargaining procedure under the table.”, Hoxha said.

And after recent reports of a corrupt relative in the ministry, Hoxha has demanded the resignation of Minister Lieburn Aliu.

The least Lieburn Aliu can do is to resign morally”, Hoxha said.

On the other hand, Hoxha said the Environment Ministry has become an exclusive environment for corruption and abuse by power.

“Under such circumstances when an important ministry such as that of the Environment, Space Planning and Infrastructure, has become an exclusive environment for corruption and abuse of power, and when our actual graphic allegations presented by the free investigative media have already exposed the corrupt atmosphere that reigns in the ministry run by Lieburn Aliu, which has a specific protagonist atmosphere with a name and surname, not only that we have seen accountability, but that we have seen a more legitimate power-managed environment, which speaks clearly here that we have not made the names of government, but that is a political conference, but that is, and that is, the most likely, with the government's respect for corruption.
