EU Special Representative for Dialogue Miroslav Lajcak is expected to arrive in Kosovo tomorrow. According to the EU Office's announcement in Kosovo, Lajcak will meet with Prime Minister Albin Kurti, as well as with leaders of the main opposition parties and representatives of the international community in Kosovo.
Analyst Artan Muharzier, Lajcak's visit to our country, sees it as one of his most difficult visits, following the failure of visa liberalisation for Kosovo citizens at the Brussels Summit.
“Lord Lajcak, will try to justify because what happened to Sam was completely unfair and immoral to Kosovo's citizens and will aim to offer any hope for a quick liberalisation in the coming months, but also for a long-term benefit of Kosovo on the issue of dialogue, so that the historic agreement with Serbia can be reached and the outcome of Kosovo's citizenship with membership in the United Nations and other Institutions”, Mujarri says.
The organisation's executive director, “, arise”, Arton Demhaja, said international leaders' visits tend to push Kosovo back into dialogue with Serbia and the sooner a final agreement is reached.
The next “states are visiting Kosovo, the main issue of discussion is the question of dialogue. So the tendency of all the countries or leaders coming to visit Kosovo is to push Kosovo back into dialogue, and that through dialogue as soon as you reach the final agreement with Serbia once and for all the problem between Kosovo and Serbia. What is positive in these upcoming visits, especially from the German Chancellor's visit to Pristina, as well as Belgrade, is that for the first time, a powerful EU leader is expressly saying that the agreement between Kosovo and Serbia should be concluded with mutual recognition. It cannot be expected that a state will enter the European Union without knowing another state”, Demhaja says of RTK.
In this direction, Muhhazier also says dialogue is the only alternative of Kosovo, but that the EU is committed to Kosovo citizens.
Kosovo has no alternative other than dialogue and, of course, with all these problems it will have to sit on the negotiating table and get an analysis of and talk about issues that are vital to the citizens of Kosovo, and of course this will have to be done gradually, but it is necessary that the EU also introduce something to the citizens of Kosovo because there is no reason to constantly cut compromises without any counterpaying”, Muhram said.
EU Special Representative Miroslav Lajcak, during his two-day stay in Kosovo, also plans to visit Prizren and northern Kosovo.
