The European Union's special representative for dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade, Miroslav Lajcak, has declared that the government of Kosovo's yesterday decision has changed the topics and plans of his visit.
Lajcak has called for the situation not to be tense and work towards normalising relations.
I came to the region to prepare for the next meeting of leaders and to talk about progress and normalisation of relations, now we have to resolve this situation. We should not allow any crisis to occur”, he said.
Lajcak for N1 television has declined to comment on Serbia's president's statement, Aleksandar Vuciq, that Pristina is planning a “attack” in northern Kosovo.
“We had a very serious conversation last night about the situation and certainly we should seek solutions through dialogue, rather than confrontation”, Lajcak said in front of reporters in Serbia.
The Kosovo government yesterday has put reciprocity on the border for Serbian citizens, continuing reciprocity for the plates.
Following that decision, Serbia's President, Aleksandar Vucic, has reacted by warning blockades in dialogue.
So Belgrade, Lajcak stayed for a three-day visit to Pristina, where he said he is working on preparing a meeting between Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, and Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq.
