The executive has announced that the parties will sign agreements that will boost co-operation among the countries, without specifying which ones. As economy connoisseurs seek to work on facilitating trade activity for Kosovo businesses.
The first joint meeting between the Government of Kosovo and Albania was held in 2014 in Prizren.
Although many governments have since been changed to Kosovo, tradition will continue with the Kurti Government.
The Kosovo government in an electronic response to Teva 1 has indicated that the upcoming meeting will take place 24 June.
The agreements expected to be signed are not disclosed.
In response to your questions, we inform you that the gathering of the two governments will be held on 24 June 2022 in Kosovo, where the parties are expected to sign several agreements that will serve in further relief and boost co-operation between the two countries”, the Government's response reported.
But connoisseurs of political and economic issues say that even though these meetings are holding the agreements reached are not being implemented.
These meetings that are held, therefore, joint government meetings have more symbolic than political or economic characters until signed agreements are not implemented. It always has to be a face-to-face body of two governments that forwards in time to implement agreements that are signed but that doesn't happen”, analyst Arton Demhaja said.
“Statistically, businesses from Albania have seen much more of these agreements than businesses from Kosovo. The problems our business is facing are mainly of technical nature. [2:44] One of these problems is continuing with the confirmation and phytosanitary cancer, customs scan costs problem, road tariff”, said Besnik Avdijaj, expert on economic issues.
The last meeting between the two governments was held in Elbasan, Albania, in November last year.
