The EU is responding to today's deal: Serbian company under Kosovo laws to start power supply

The EU diplomatic service has issued a media communiqué concerning the reconciliation of parties for the Energy Agreement Implementation Guide. The EU has praised chief negotiators Bislimi and Petkovovic as he declares that with today's agreement, Serbia-owned Electricever) company will supply four northern municipalities with electricity based on Kosovo laws.
“With today's agreement, Elektrosever, a Serbian-owned company based in Kosovo and under Kosovo law, will begin providing electricity to consumers in the four Serb majority northern municipalities. This paves the way for completion of the current nontransparent and unregulated practice”, said the communiqué.
The EU has demanded that the Energy Community Secretariat monitor implementation of the agreement.
The European Union has asked the Energy Community Secretariat to monitor the technical implementation of the commercial agreement between Elektrosever and KEDS, the Kosovar Energy Distribution Company. The EU welcomes Guide's approval as a step forward in normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia for the benefit of all citizens and urges both sides to make progress on all other unresolved issues. The EU thanks both chief negotiators for their commitment and responsible approach to the process, which led to today's” score, is said to be on hand.
The EU Foreign Service says the Guide sets clear timetables and concrete steps for implementation of the energy agreement.
“Today, following extensive discussions, Kosovo and Serbia's chief negotiators, Besnik Bislimi and and Petar Petkovovic, agreed in Brussels on the Energy Agreements Implementation Guide in EU facilitated Dialogue, which sets specific obligations for both sides. The guide sets a clear timetable and concrete steps for implementation of the 2013 and 2015 Energy Agreements. Both agreements have been implemented only partially with relevant elements still unresolved”, said the communique.
