In these days, according to the announcement, through discussions, artistic exhibitions, street plays, riot parties, the queer people and allies “will be joined to show they are citizens of this state and part of every Kosovo family”.
According to organisers, the slogan reflects the denied presence and existence of persons LGBQI+ both in the state and in the family.
In a country where society and family are essentially heteromative and patriarchal, it is the state's duty to provide security for persons who are not safe from the oppressive thinking produced by these two institutions. Political parties, government and presidency on the other side have no priority for LGBTIQ+ rights, but queer persons are used by them to achieve power. On one side, there are progressive scenes on closed tables with internationals and civil society, and on the other, they try to avoid as many topics as possible of sexual orientation and gender identity in campaigns and communication with voters.
This year, the Crenaria Parade, in addition to the celebration, should be seen as peaceful resistance to address issues of the current situation of persons LGBQI+”, the organisers' notice said.
Organisers have said that these days will be celebrated for their presence and empowering those who are still accepting themselves.
We will celebrate the resistance we have on our daily basis without the support of the state and the family, and we will be the voice to all who have no security and live in emotional, mental, and physical violence. We will celebrate the families that have accepted us and the ones we have chosen, protest against families that oppress their children. We will celebrate our love, protest the legal recognition of this ram. Together we will celebrate that we exist and give the world color, together we will continue to walk toward a world where we are equal to”, the announcement states.
