Enver Hoxhaj gives signals that pro-open Balkans is listing

MP PDK, Enver Hoxhaj, has said on the show that Kosovo should join all regional initiatives.

He has commented on Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov's statement that Serbia is the initiator of the Open Balkans, saying Russia wants only divisions and that until yesterday it had never been declared for the Open Balkans. Hoxhaj added that the initiative has the full support of Americans.

The “as far as the Balkans are open and the declaration Lavrov has received. It's typical Russian behavior to put as much gasoline into the fires of divisions. It is Russian policy to cross the Balkans where they can. It has not been declared until then. What Lavrov did is misunderstanding, to manipulate whatever happens in the Balkans. In what happens in the Open Balkans, there must be more fair and full reading. It must be exercised correctly. This is an initiative seen yesterday as the day before, having the full support of Americans”, he said.

He adds that as much as the foreign minister has been, Kosovo has joined dozens of regional initiatives and that they have asked international partners to assist in these memberships.

I was as soon as I was foreign minister to join all regional initiatives. I and colleagues have joined Kosovo in 37 organisations. The view yesterday where we as a new country have sought the support of all of the region to accept us. You know what challenges we've had. We have had tremendous results to membership Kosovo in international organisations. The Open Balkans is an informal mechanism. Kosovo's citizenship is not measured in Ohrid. It is measured in Brussels and Berlin. Matet in London. Matet in Washington and above all in the WTO. How much Kosovo state is measured by how well-known we are internationally. I believe we should be part of any regional initiative. We've tired our partners from being part of regional initiatives and they've put pressure on us”, he concluded.
