Speaking at a media conference at the United Nations Office (OKB) in Geneva, O representative BSH in Ukraine, Dr. Jarno Habicht, praised the latest state of health services in Ukraine.
Habicht said that since 2 June, the number of attacks by Russian troops at health centres in Ukraine increased to 269, of which 76 people died and 59 people were injured.
Stressing that some health facilities were destroyed as a result of the attacks, Habicht said that many hospitals and clinics in conflict areas cannot provide health services for those in need.
He stressed that war caused serious psychological damage to the Ukrainian people, as well as announced that O The BSH has increased the number of personnel in the country and provided 543 tonnes of medical equipment in areas affected by conflicts to heal Ukrainian wounds.
Stressing the need to restore war-damaged health services in Ukraine, Habicht announced O The BSH has increased its current donor call and launched a $17.5 million donation campaign for Ukrainians.
Habicht also pointed out that 80m dollars from this figure will be used for medical assistance to civilians in the country and $66.5m for medical assistance to Ukrainian refugees who were sheltered in neighboring countries.
