Through a Facebook post, the embassy has congratulated the new president and praised the current job as Chief of General Staff.

The US's “Embassy congratulated Bajram Begaj for his election as Albania's next president. As chief of the General Staff, he contributed significantly to co-operation between the United States and Albania in the field of defence. We are pleased to continue working with him in his new task and further strengthen the partnership between our countries”, the Embassy's post said.
