According to the announcement by the Serbian presidency, Hill at this meeting also reiterated his support for the European integration of the entire Western Balkan region, stressing that this is one of the priorities of American foreign policy when it comes to the region.
The meeting has also discussed dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, agreeing that open issues in the dialogue could be resolved under the leadership of the European Union to reach compromise solutions.
Serbia continues to insist on talks, because this is the only proper way to resolve all open issues and reach a mutually acceptable” agreement, Vuciq was quoted as saying.
Hill has also demanded from Serbia the punishment of Russian aggression in Ukraine.
“We expect a clear position from Serbia for respecting international law and condemning Russian aggression against Ukraine, as well as full commitment to reforms in the area of rule of law and other areas necessary for progress on the European road,”, the ambassador said.
We remember that Serbia is the only state in Europe that has not imposed sanctions on Russia, despite having voted for UN resolutions and European Union statements condemning the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
