Bulgaria has today vetoed northern Macedonia, paving the way for Albania's integration into the European Union.
The news was made known by Enlargement Commissioner Oliver Varhely, who calls it a historic decision for Europe.
“We thank the opposition leader Gerb @BoykoBorisov for making a historic decision for Europe and for agreeing to negotiations with the Northern Maceonia based on the French proposal allowing the continuation with the opening of membership negotiations with Northern Macedonia”, writes Varhely on Twitter.
