Meteorologists have warned that in the western and central part of Germany, heavy rainfall is expected to be followed by storm, where winds will move at speeds of up to 130 miles [130 km] an hour.

The storm the previous day had caused a form of traffic chaos by removing trees ending in the streets, and the basements of homes were filled with water in western Germany.

Major material damage has been caused in the town of Lippstad. The peak of a church has been completely destroyed, while German news agency dpa reported that over 100 people are stuck in a swimming pool on which several trees have fallen.
