Ukrainian military officials say 12 people were killed in the eastern region of Luhansk and 60 properties were destroyed by Russian bombings.
But, according to them, Russian forces appeared to have made some progress on the main fronts in Luhansk and Donetsk on Thursday.
The 12 people were killed in the town of Severodonnetsk, according to the head of the military administration in Luhansk, Serhii Hayday.
Hayday said many houses were destroyed throughout the area, writes CNN.
Despite intense bombings, Ukrainians say they are still standing by protecting the fronts.
The “Sulmi in Severodonetsk was unsuccessful. The Russians suffered staff losses and withdrew”, Hayday said.
Oleksandr Strick, head of the military administration of the town of Severodonnetsk, said there are up to 15,000 civilians still in the city, who live in shelters and basements to guard from bombs.
However, he said large parts of the city have been destroyed.
