Teachers strike tomorrow, Jasharaj: Warning of More Synic Action

Teachers across the country will go on a one-hour strike tomorrow. Under SBASK's organisation, nests will be on strike from 6:30-7:30, while primary schools depending on shifts, the first hour will be on strike, and universities from 10:00-11 a.m. Lost hours on strike will not be replaced and if the government [...]
Lost hours in the strike will not be replaced, and if the Kosovo government then does not react from the SBASK they say they stick to the scenario to enter a general strike. Among their demands, educators, but public sector workers also require an additional 100 euros in salaries until the adoption of the wage law.
Nundham Jasharaj, chairman of the SBASK, has declared for Kosova Preress that tomorrow's strike is warning, while adding that 20 May there will be a protest of all public sector workers.
The “Seeing as there are no concrete movements, no concrete meetings, no appropriate government action, the Steering Council (SBASK) confirmed the decision once again of Congress and decided on May 12th to be a one-hour warning strike on the entire educational system. But on this one-hour strike, we have information that there will be other sectors and trade unions that are part of BSPK. As far as the education sector is concerned, we have made the plan, the schedule. Chore deals have been said that since Pristina starts working at 06:30, they will be on strike from 06:30 to 07:30 on Thursday and then continue working in normal conditions. The primary and high schools depending on whether they start at 7:30 or 8: 00 p.m., it is known that the first morning and afternoon class will be on strike, while in agreement with other universities of the Republic of Kosovo they have agreed that a one-hour strike will be on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00, with the argument that there are larger movements at that time because universities are trying to show, investigate that there is a 911 strike, Jasharaj said.
Jasharaj said the lost hours will not be replaced as he added that this should be an alarm initially for the education minister and then for the entire executive to react and prevent the next strikes.
The “Times that lose on strike are not replaced because if this were done, the Government would let us strike a month knowing that we would then replace the hours and force strike as our instrument would fade... This should also be an additional alarm for Minister Nagavci in the first place as minister of the education sector, but for the entire Kurti Government, they can with concrete actions lead us neither to Thursday's or May 20th strike in protest”, Jasharaj followed.
Jasharaj says that on May 20th all employees in the public sector will be in protest in order for the Government of Kosovo to meet their demands, which is an additional 100 euros every month until the adoption of the Law of Pays.
I'm sure all educational institutions from nests to universities will be on a one-hour strike Thursday, and we with them are preparing for even greater than single-hour strikes. With the decision of the Steering Council, but also supported by the BSPK on May 20th, all employees in the public sector, even education workers and others will be in protest, which will be organised again in the commitment to realise our demands that the Kurti Government continue to support the education sector and other sectors with an additional 100 euros in salaries until the wage law is done, Jasharaj said.
The SBASK chairman said that if the Kosovo government continues not to meet their demands even after May 20th, then they will be forced to enter the strike until their fulfillment.
I regret that if the Kurti Government neither after the May 20th protest takes concrete steps to sit down and talk with trade unions in correct efforts to find solutions to our demands and our colleagues in other sectors, then after May 20th, the presiding council will probably be obliged to bring about an even more serious decision, so it is about the general strike in the entire education sector, which means a strike at an indefinite time, and that strike would last until the moment when Government When it would meet our public demands... I hope that Kurti Government will not be silent after May 20th, because then we will be forced to enter general strike”, Jasharaj concluded.
Jasharaj has sought understanding from parents, students and students about tomorrow's strike. For parents, there were appeals to send their children to kindergarten and school with an hour's delay for student safety. /kp/
