Serbia cannot destabilise Kosovo

Deputy Defence Minister Shemsy Syla says the tools that are flocking to the Security Fund will be designated for the key needs of the Kosovo Security Force, while stressing that our force needs additional equipment, weapons and the capacity a military needs. Eyes do not show a rough figure [...]

The deputy defence minister has said that the biggest contribution to the Security Fund is coming from exiles who, according to him, have businesses and are expressing enormous concern for the fund.

A part of the opposition has several dilemmas and has raised some issues that seem absurd because a fund created by the state and controlled by the state is much safer than the other funds we've heard before as their work has been, with all those words, with all that noise and with all that discreditment. We have now not allowed to have such funds on the sides but to have the state's mechanism running, controlling, monitoring and making it transparent... we don't have a rough figure, we don't have a precise figure, while I'm convinced that the government will soon come up with an exact data”, says Syla.

On March 2nd of this year, the Government of Kosovo has established the Security Fund in which different citizens and donors can contribute.

According to the deputy defence minister, no one should worry about their investment, since he says there will be analyses by military experts.

The “mostly we need to prepare the Force, complete the capacities, fill the capabilities, need equipment, and weapons, and other comprehensive parts needed by the military. So they're going to be destined for where they need it. They'll be run by the state, they're going to be dirty tests, even by the Ministry of Defense, by KSF, even by military experts to know where we need more investment. Without ready, all citizens must stay because those vehicles will be used there because they will be managed by commissions or by specialists who will do gray analysis of where there is a need to spend the tools that are collected by the” fund, he says.

While talking about the current security situation in the country, Syla says Serbia is using different methods of provocation, but despite that, he sees no possibility of destabilisation in the country.

Serbia's “Policy is using different institutions of insensifications and cases in which it intends to spur or provoke the situation. All these elements that are factual in the provocations of police and other parts and forms and other ways are in the course of the Serbian plan for destabilization and for not leaving the situation calm... There is no possibility of Serbia in these conditions to destabilise Kosovo, there is no use in what actions they did, only what they are disposing of the ego that Serbia is still dreaming of, they have gone through, but we have to be cool-eyed regardless, we have to be in charge of duty, we do our jobs”, says the deputy minister of Defence.

According to him, Serbia is escaping dialogue in Brussels, since it is unwilling to face the Kosovo Government's positions.

“is seeing a lack of willingness to be in dialogue and all of what you do is for a goal, to prevent dialogue because it is now not ready to get into dialogue to talk slowly because our government has clear intentions, has a clear attitude and in the face of that attitude Serbia has turned back, so that it runs out of the meeting, runs out of dialogue and deals with other conflicts, with the preparation of conflicts to make a conflict country to avoid dialogue as well as”, he says.

Syla added that they are working towards establishing KSF capacities so that membership in NATO can be achieved as soon as possible, for what, the support of many partner states exists.

Of many other states we have support, at least verbal, but also statements that are in state institutions, in positions and institutional terms. So we're working in this direction, ours is to meet the criteria, to be willing tomorrow to be a part of NATO, our primary goal... we believe that the circumstances created have also created acceleration mechanisms, you've seen that Finland and Sweden have requested or are on the verge of membership so it's a good signal to think about us here. The biggest turning point around the Balkans has been added by the international factor”, he says.

Here he mentions preparations he has started for participating in the largest field exercise of the American Army, Defender Europe 23, what he says is a clear signal of credibility that NATO and the United States have for KSF.

This exercise is a clear signal in the credibility that NATO and the United States have in the KSF... this is a fact with which our request is argued, and it reasons that it's a legitimate part, while we are together with NATO, we do training, exercise, so important to such high levels, then we're not part of NATO to be even closer to the outcome that we can give”, Syla adds.

In an interview for Kosova Preiss, deputy defence minister, until answers about the departure of members of the force, says it is continuous and not disturbing trend.

According to him, there is no increase in the number of members who are abandoning the KSF service, compared to the previous years.

Syla says that through the wage law, better conditions will be created for soldiers in this respect as well.
