Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, has held a telephone conversation with Russia's President Vladimir Putin this Sunday.
In this telephone conversation, Vuciq said he and his Russian counterpart have agreed to a new three-year contract for Serbia's gas supply from Russia.
“Can't talk about the price now, all details will deal with Gazprom”, Vuciq writes.
In addition, Vuciq said that with Putin they agreed that the price of gas should be tied to the price of oil, but without providing more details.
The Serbian president just said in the call with Putin was discussed expanding the gas storage space in Serbia.
“Putin said to call if I feel there is something more to discuss”, Vucic, Putin's closest ally in Europe said.
Serbia's 10-year contract on gas supply with Gazprom expires on 31 May.
Serbia, which aims to join the European Union, is recently pressured by Western countries to link its foreign policy with the bloc and impose sanctions on Russia.
