Russians say they have taken control of the Azovstal steel plant

The Russian Defence Ministry has announced that Russia's armed forces have taken control of the Azovstal steel plant, the Guardian reports.
The Azovstal underground structures where Ukrainian soldiers have been sheltered are now under full control of the Russian armed forces”, the Russian Defence Ministry's statement reported, adding that 2.439 soldiers of the Azov battalion have surrendered.
Russians in the Telegram canals have also published videos with Sergey Volinski, commander of the 36th Marine Brigade unit, where he pointed out his unit was surrounded.
Azov's battalion was one of the main forces protecting the Azovstal steel plant. However, this information has not yet been confirmed by Ukrainian authorities.
