A rare missile attack has been reported in the western region of Lviv. Serhiy Hayday, head of Luhansk's regional military administration, said earlier this morning that the <x0rus are gathering equipment and labor force closer to Severodonetsk and are preparing to attack it”.
Severodonnetsk is one of several eastern industrial cities that have suffered brutal bombings for weeks as Russian forces try to break the Ukrainian defense.
Hayday said the town's chemical factory and high buildings were hit. CNN writes that 11 multistory buildings in the city's new and old neighbourhoods were hit, and several dwellings were on fire. Hayday confirmed that several settlements in the south and west of Severodonnetsk were also attacked, including Vrebivka and Komyshukha. Ukraine has provided little detail about its counteroffensive in the Kharkiv region, where its troops have made significant advances in the north and east towards the Russian border. The aim of Ukrainian offensive is to cut Russian supply lines trying to advance in the Donnetsk region
