The 22-year-old Albanian Erridon Hasanpay has been sentenced by the English court to 1 year in prison for drug cultivation after being arrested raising cannabis plants worth about 50 thousand euros.
When police raided “the home of bar” found two bedrooms on the upper floor of the building equipped with lighting, ventilators and timer, and the power clock had been removed by stealing electricity. Hasanpaj was found alone in the apartment during police control, English media write.
He was indebted to those who brought him to this country and approached some people in London who did not speak Albanian. They told him to get into a car and then send him to the building where the cannabis was growing. He was given instructions on what to do when he arrived home. In view of the debt, he felt that he had no choice but to follow the instructions he had been given”, his lawyer said.
Hasanpay was justified in front of the court saying he borrowed it from people who had illegally taken it to Great Britain, so the only way he paid off his debts was to work drugs.
