The capital has started work on realising Pristina's economic zone. So says Pristina municipality chairman Progress Rama. Under the regulatory plan adopted long ago, this area is envisioned to be over 600 hectares in the Khabaj and Brnica area.
This issue will be handled tonight by colleague Faton Salihu on the “economix” show, which will start with new formats.
Arian Shaban owns the waste recycling plant. Ariani says they are planning to expand more, but each time for producers it is a problem of space. Pristina's economic zone is very welcome, according to him, and that as soon as it will function, it plans to invest in it.
Considering that it is also in the capital, the possibilities are much better for a product, so for producers it is welcome to such an economic area that will facilitate the development of each producer, or any activity that develops it within”, Shaban said.
According to the chairman of the Pristina municipality, Rama's progress has begun work on creating the Pristina economic zone, or the Industrial Zone. It will be more than 600 hectares and will be included in the Shbaj and Brnica area.
We're working, all these planning is work, and now only arrangements are necessary to make it possible for us to make it possible as an economic area with the Ministry of Economy. Now there is a large number of Pristina municipality parcels, an even greater central level number. We have also written to Prime Minister Roseta Hajdari and to take that land to function in the economic zone, and we are in continuous talks to transform that area into an economic zone for the good of Pristina, for the good of Kosovo”, Rama chairman told RTK.
Berat Mustafa of the Manufacturers Club says that every day that work is delayed in creating this area is a loss for producers and the entire country. “Seeing increased growth and development and increased export demand for local producers, for every day we lose, even our producer and Kosovo state, Mustafa said.
RTK has submitted requests to the Ministry of Industry for interview to take a stand for this ministry's role in the matter, but they have not returned.
