That's how the prime minister's office has announced.
The prime minister has informed them of the high potential for increasing the TI sector in Kosovo, plans and government projects, as well as the establishment of positive indicators of our country in terms of rule of law and democracy and freedom.
The first meeting has been held with the company, which has the primary mission of creating human and professional networks with the aim of employment: LinkedIn. In Linkedin's central office, the company's executives have discussed the possibilities the Republic of Kosovo offers, with its geographic position, institutional stability, local innovation, entrepreneurial spirit and talented new and skilled workforce”, the communiqué says.
According to the Government, Kurti has announced to the heads of LinkedIn on the attractive qualities of young workers in Kosovo: 2,000 students graduate from the TI sector in Kosovo and the government helps train another 4 thousand. Youth generally speaks English, while the diaspora is large and contributes much to the country's economy.
Prime Minister Kurti has said that currently 10% of companies in the TI sector are in foreign ownership and 21% in mixed international ownership with locals in Kosovo. Enhancing investments in this sector, especially on the part of American companies, will create new jobs, which are both quality and sustainable for our citizens, he noted.
After meeting with LinkedIn, the prime minister has continued with a visit to the VME company, a leader in the field of “cloud computing” and “virtification technology”, currently widely used in Kosovo. Currently, FREE has 35 thousand employees, of whom 25 thousand are in foreign countries.
Prime Minister Kurti has informed the company's representatives of the concrete actions our Government has undertaken to make Kosovo the next contractor of Southeast Europe's IT and BPO hum services.
After this meeting, Prime Minister Kurti has been hosted by the leaders of two investment firms -- Sumeru Equity Partners and Andreessen Horowitz. During these visits, he has informed them of some of the reasons why it should be invested in Kosovo: the favourable geographical position to provide services to over 70 million consumers in Southeast Europe, the professional workforce, the low operational spending for TI companies, the establishment of the Commercial Court, the support provided by the Government in the development and growth of the IT industry through a comprehensive digital agenda, etc.
At the meeting with leaders of the Miller Centre for Social Retailers (Miller Center for Social Entrepreneursip), Prime Minister Kurti has spoken of achievements over a year of governance and improved investment and foreign business conditions, as well as discussed future co-operation opportunities between the Miller Centre and the Republic of Kosovo.
