Dukaj stressed that this initiative is not successful unless all states are involved.
Consequently, the minister suggests that initially the three Albanian prime ministers -- Edi Rama, Albin Kurti and Dritan Abazic -- seem to sit down and discuss.
I think the Open Balkans have awakened great interest in recent months. I estimate he's wrong with the steps first. All that matters is that they are well introduced. The ideas themselves had to sit in more detail not only 2-3, but with all the prime ministers and clarify the issue. Unfortunately, another group abuses it. I appreciate that anything supported or suggested by the United States should be seriously considered. The assessment of the Open Balkans should be discussed at higher levels. Mr Rama first along with Kurti and Abazovic to sit and talk. If it's not all countries, I think it's not successful. Recognising all prime ministers specifically I hope that in the future the open Balkan issue will be clarified”, the minister for abcnews.al said.
Regarding the situation in Montenegro, while it is the first stall leading this ministry, Maras Dukaj also shows priorities. He stressed that particular attention will be paid decentralisation, as Montenegro is behind the countries of the region in this respect.
This ministry for the first time is headed by an Albanian. Albanians have usually run the ministry of minorities. I mean, the minority government, you know, shows an issue that has to do with a functioning of a different government over the long term. Even the situation in Montenegro before the establishment of this government has been blocked. The primary basis of this government is to unlock the whole process.
One of the ministry's top priorities is decentralisation. We're way behind the region. I will also focus on supporting friends from the region doing some important digitalisation work. It needs to be fixed and developed. There is tremendous cost to citizens. My ministry will also focus on decentralisation. Compared to Albania and Kosovo, Montenegro is much later and centralised”, he said.
