He said his re-election marked a democratic rebirth, while adding that France has rarely faced a combination of challenges such as war in Europe, pandemic and ecological emergency.
France's “People have chosen a clear project and explosives for the future, a European project of independence, scientific, social and ecological progress”, Macron says, "The Guardian."
The French president said that at these moments when the century is changing, his country must draft a road forward together.
Let's have the courage to look at reality in our face. Let us be loyal to the values of freedom, equality, brotherhood, and secularism. Let us continue to love the republic and everything it brings. Let's love our homeland”, Macron said.
In addition, Macron said their second mandate is not only a continuation of the first mandate, but pledged that it would create a more comprehensive educational system, accessible health services everywhere, as well as greater sexual equality and a stronger army.
For Macron, the next five years are in power, while at this time it is expected to appoint the prime minister along with a new cabinet to replace Jean Castex, the current prime minister.
We remember that Macro won the April 24th elections with 58.55 per cent of the vote against Marin Le Pen from the far right.
Macron now faces a battle to retain control of the French parliament in what will be his last five years in power.
