Latif at Worker é Nurses in German - language courses: Why does the minister of health seem so uncocococatic

In our country, almost no days go by, not reading news or reading a letter where nurses and doctors decide to leave Kosovo. Or, each of us, potentially knows someone of this propheson, who is watching his chances of leaving the country more precisely in Germany. [...]

When Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi, in one of the reports on a Commission, had mentioned the disturbing work of leaving our country to doctors, he had an answer, however ridiculous and absurd. He said shit. Our doctors go to Germany, and German doctors leave Germany.

But there's a man named Rifat Latifi who is in the position of minister of health in our country, and there's no answer from what we know so far.

Shit.

At the pit of the pandemic, when we saw hundreds of medical volunteers assisting relatives and citizens of Kosovo in the fight against the Coronavirus, we did not expect to fill our mouths with the word we hear it and we do not intend to say it often: HERON.

These heroes, who have been paid since March of this year, staged protests today on Wednesday, May 25th, 2025.

Among the slogans we read there was one that is linked to the inability of our nurses and doctors to continue the work this way and the addresses that most of them see is Germany, so to leave Kosovo.

Last notice we saw. by the Health Ministry, in our interest as to where the minister might actually be, tells us that the minister has returned from America, where he joined Prime Minister Kurti at several meetings, such as the Vatra Association. There were some questions, why, for example, should the minister of health be on such a date? We're also asking, why?

Anyway, the minister's back and he's been on a workshop yesterday. Workman.

The minister's political biography, originally unknown enough to publish Kosovars since he took office, has been filled with this kind of commitment. There was a viral statement made by Prime Minister Kurti, where at the time of the pandemic, Minister Latif had gone to the United States, to work online from there.

Thus, the entire chronology of (not) the ministry's complete work can be summed up in one word: Don't-head.

Hall of pandemic heroes today: Want pay and follow-up contracts

With the banners bearing the inscriptions “Minister replied by 1600 that we have the German courses at 5:18x1>, “You were all proud of the management of the pandemic we were the reason for”, “Heros of the pandemic forgotten by the Government of Kosovo”, they wanted answers to their two demands.

KKUK nurses' representative Nurie Ukaj said that despite their constantly running requests at MS they have not received an answer to their demands. According to her, some of the support staff have been forced to boycott work in financial inefficiency.

The goal of organising the protest today is for non-excusing wages and never without an official response, currently with all support staff we do not leave without receiving an official response... It's nearly three months (that we haven't paid)... We've made paperwork requests, we've sent emails, but we've never received an answer except yesterday we've had a meeting with the chief of the cabinet, Remember Salih, all he's told us is that there's optimism but not a definite answer... The same thing we do is there are several colleagues who have boycotted work the reason is the financial inability for further work development... We are fully engaged, there are colleagues who work with custody almost the same as they are regular, we have no difference why they are regular and we are on the set time”, she stressed.

The position Berisha, which is engaged in the vaccine process, indicated that it has been working on the job for two years until its commitment is now paid for three months.

She said these have been the reasons she has already stopped working with the MS and has decided to continue her professional engagement in Germany.

We're two years of contracting to work where we're out of this protest because of payments, the second cause is to continue our contracts that we're being tortured for two years with contracts on work, three months and six months. Also, late three - month payments that many of us have family obligations and housing payments for personal matters. This three-month delay, and this (discreet for) continuation of contracts for two years has caused that I personally as a nurse cut the contract and decided to hire in Germany”, Berisha stressed.

Ilirian Demaj, who from September committed to the Infectious Clinic intensive ward, said it would be good to be informed of the continuation of work contracts that were expired in June in order to make a solution.

Because we're protesting today is the reason we're getting wages first in the next week where we get three straight months that we haven't received wages and the other reason is the contracts that are out next week, some are out of 5 June to 6 June, and the vaccination staff is out on June 15th and we don't get any answers. It would be reasonable to know at least 1 month before the contracts are terminated or each of us will continue to make a solution after that 11x1>, Demaj said. This support staff protest has also been supported by the Kosovo Nurse Union.

Enlirak Duraku, of this union, indicated that these requests of support staff are reasonable until he demanded that their salary execution be executed at the right time.

“Pages of these health professionals, support staff, are executed at the right time because there is a possibility that someone can depend on this salary alone. Then, there's a job contracts issue because these are our citizens, these are professionals, our health system needs them, they need jobs, and patients need our maximum care. So their demand for salary executions and follow-up contracts, as it is evident that there are serious shortages in the health system, especially for nurses and support staff”, he said.

Over a thousand and 200 health professionals, including doctors and nurses, were hired during the pandemic, but those who received no salaries since March. This support staff has also not benefited from financial additions meant for health professionals. /Dafina Demak/Surge report: KP/Periscope/
