The five QUINT countries in Kosovo, consisting of France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom and the United States, in a statement issued today, have called on the Government of Kosovo to start implementing the Constitutional decision on ownership of the Decani Monastery.
Full statement:
In May 2016, Kosovo's Constitutional Court confirmed ownership of the Decani Monastery on several hectares of land. Despite this legitimate decision and subsequent requirements, the Court's decision has yet to be carried out.
Law enforcement and respect for the judiciary's independence are the obligation of all democratic elected governments. Also, they are preconditions for Kosovo's democratic consolidation and its integration into European and Euro-Atlantic institutions.
The chiefs of missions of France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom and the United States of America are united in supporting them for Kosovo's democratic and European future. Therefore, again we call on the Kosovo government to, in line with the Constitutional Court's decision, act without delay for full implementation of the legal registration of the Decani Monastery land. /Periscope
