John of Gjilan: A lion kept in a cage is set free for a taste of the sun

A lion named John, who has so far been kept in cage at a Gjilan restaurant, has been released in outer space at the Pristina Bear Forest.

Through a Facebook announcement, the Pristina Bear Forest said the lion now has the opportunity to enjoy its outer space.

“Saved at the end of March, John is slowly learning to live again as a lion! Since he arrived at our shelter our guardians have been intensively committed to preparing space for him. It took him a while to muster up the courage to take his first steps in the fresh grass and the soil of his outer space. This is a slow and continuous process for him until he gets used to outer space, but we are sure that John will soon feel more relaxed”, said the Bear Forest's post.

The sunny weather, the quiet environment, and the games our guardians prepare will help John very soon overcome the traumas of his past”.

However, the Bear Forest said that this environment is not the ultimate destination of the lion.

“We're continuing to work on him moving to one of the shelters for the large cats of Four Paesão, where he will enjoy his life in a suitable environment for his type”, Pristina Bear Forest has written.
